This video demonstrates an IoT-based smart door lock system created by a group of students to address the common issue of people forgetting to lock their doors. The hardware system integrates a 2200 mAh battery, a solenoid lock, a relay, a Micro:bit controller with an extension board, an RFID reader, and a touch sensor to provide enhanced safety, efficiency, and quicker access. On the software side, the project utilizes Micro:bit for block-based code development, an ESP8266 module for Wi-Fi connectivity, an IoT dashboard for monitoring, and Firebase for textual data storage. In practice, users can seamlessly unlock the door from the outside using an RFID key card, or simply tap the internal touch sensor to exit the room without needing a card.
